Accreditation Provides an Official "Stamp of Approval"

Today's health care organizations are held to very high levels of accountability -- by peers, by the general public, and by Medicare and other payers.

 

Accreditation of computed tomography is a means by which medical practices can evaluate and demonstrate the level of patient care they provide.

 

 

CHECK LIST FOR ACCREDITATION SUCCESS

1.) Download Standards:

  • Download standards (organization and CT testing)

  • Review your site's credentials with respect to standards
  • Engage a Medical Physicist to assist with Quality Assurance Testing and preparation of the accreditation paperwork

 

2.) Determine the following roles at your facility:

  • Medical Director
  • Technical Director

 

3.) Prepare to meet:

  • CME requirements
  • Radiation safety training
  • Scanner operation training
