UnitedHealth Once Again Pushes Imaging
Accreditation Deadline - Now to 2009

The original deadline for accreditation filing for UnitedHealth has been pushed back once again.  The latest deadline of this fall has now been moved to the fourth quarter of 2009.  This is to better align UnitedHealth with the recently-passed Congressional bill that will require accreditation for imaging sites by 2012 to receive Medicare reimbursement.  Please contact UnitedHealth for more information.

Xoran Earns CE Mark for MiniCAT
Xoran is happy to announce that we have earned the right to put the CE mark on the Xoran MiniCAT.  The MiniCAT can be marketed and sold in EU countries and anywhere else in the world where the CE marking is required.  CE marking certifies that a product has met the European Union’s standards for consumer safety, which include heath, safety and environmental requirements.

IAC Commends the U.S. Congress for Passing the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act
The United States Congress recently passed the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act that includes, among other items, the establishment of required accreditation for imaging and an elimination of a scheduled 10.6% cut in physician fees.  By 2010, the federal Health and Human Services will develop a list of approved accrediting bodies that can review and accredit imaging sites.  The Intersocietal Accreditation Committee (IAC), an independent accrediting body of in-office imaging, states that they will be working to ensure that they are part of that list.  By 2012, all imaging sites in the nation would have to be accredited to achieve Medicare reimbursement.
