UnitedHealthcare Extends Deadline for Accreditation
UnitedHealthcare announced that they are extending the date for the opportunity for facility imaging accreditation for American College of Radiology (ACR) and the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission standards (IAC). The extension has been moved from a March 1, 2008 deadline to the third quarter of 2008 due to feedback from physicians. Once the program is active, UnitedHealthcare will require outpatient imaging sites that bill on a 1500 Health Insurance Claim Form (HICF), or its electronic equivalent, to complete and submit the application to obtain accreditation as a condition for reimbursement.
