Chicago Nasal & Sinus Center recently received their accreditation approval letter from the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Computed Tomography Laboratories (ICACTL).  This accreditation confirms the practice’s commitment to always providing the safest, most effective means of CT scanning.  Being a MiniCAT customer for several years, the center has proved to continuously meet the expectations and standards of the ICACTL.

For The Children
Representative Sue Myrick (R-NC 9th District) has introduced House Resolution 1216 to encourage lowering the amount of radiation dose delivered to children from CT and other imaging studies.  As a medical imaging manufacturer that pioneered the MiniCAT, a specialty ultra-low dose CT scanner, Xoran is supportive of initiatives that help children access better medical care.

Online CT Radiation Safety is LIVE
You can now receive CT radiation safety training online! Xoran Technologies has partnered with Upstate Medical Physics to offer three one-hour radiation safety courses that are available at https://radsafe.xorantech.com. The courses are broken down into small sections, allowing users to proceed through the course at their own pace. Upon completion of the courses, users will take a short test. A score of 100% is required. Upon passing, you will receive an email confirmation, and your certificate of completion will be sent to you electronically.
* The latest version of Adobe Flash Player is required. A link is provided on the Radiation Safety homepage.

MiniCAT Tip
For temporal bone imaging, a snapshot may not be the best method to assess a patient’s positioning.  Xoran recommends using the alignment laser lights to ensure accurate positioning.
