Patient Outrage Letter
Most patients would prefer to be scanned directly where they are being treated.  Why?  Frankly, it's convenient.  But convenience may not be enough to call someone to action.

Radiation dose, however, is definitely an issue to rally patients and parents to step-up and shout...to their insurance company!  And the potential to lower workplace absenteeism might rally their employers to back them.

Xoran has created a "Patient Outrage Letter" that includes arguments that address: low-dose for the patient; specific protocols for ENT; and time + money inefficiencies with respect to the patient and employer.

This is a template that can be modified by the patient, the physician, or used "as is".  Please share with us the results/receptiveness from your patients, their employers and insurance companies!

XoranConnect and MiniCAT Software Tip
Click on the Distance Tool icon in the toolbar to activate the tool.

In the MPR viewer, the Distance Tool measures the distance between two points on an image (in millimeters). One of the most important functions of the distance tool is to confirm the distance of BBs on phantoms for quality control purposes.

xCAT® ENT Wins 2008 Medical Design Excellence Award
Xoran Technologies, Inc. received a 2008 Medical Design Excellence Award (MDEA) for its xCAT® ENT, a compact, mobile CT scanner.

Traditionally, patients needing diagnostic scans had to make their way to the imaging department of a hospital because of the immobile nature of the massive room-sized imaging devices.  Xoran wanted to streamline the imaging process by bringing imaging to the patient at the location where the patient is treated.  Xoran shrunk CT technology into an ultra portable device, a fraction of the size of a full-body scanner and about 1/10 the weight.
